It's Tuesday again!

My Top Ten Favorite Recipes of All Time!

I asked my husband, if I was only able to make 10 recipes, for anything, ever again what would they be. His response "Bacon and Eggs". I don't make bacon and eggs...I don't even like bacon and eggs...I know, I know...
So, asking him was a lost cause.

1. Pizza is my absolutely all time favorite food. It's one of those things, that if I were on an island.... I would definitely take with me. Of course I would also need a refrigerator and oven to store and cook them. This recipe is really easy to make, although you have to be thinking ahead. I've made it with veggies, with pepperoni, with ricotta cheese and spinach...it has never failed to be absolutely delicious. I've yet to find a pizzeria
that can make pizza this good....of course, we don't live anywhere near a decent pizza place anyways.

2. My Oma's Spaetzle and Goulash is definitely right up there with pizza, actually they may be tied. This is one of those meals that is just "home" to me. It's one of those great meals that can be made ahead and tastes even more delicious with each passing day. There's just something special about homemade egg noodles, with beef and gravy, and chunks of sweet carrots.

3. This one is a new favorite, Buffalo Chicken Wraps. I love the flavor of buffalo wings dripping in blue cheese dressing...I don't however like wings. I have no idea why, I just don't. I found a recipe on pinterest originally, but decided to make it my own, or rather my mother in law's. I used her secret, and delicious, hot wing sauce. I made this once and it has become an oft requested meal in our house.

4. I'm a big fan of dessert. I subscribe to the belief of "Life's short, eat dessert first". If that dessert entails chocolate, all the better. For years I tried making brownies from scratch and could NEVER get them to come out right. Finally I found a recipe, not too surprisingly from King Arthur Flour. These brownies are fudgey and chocolatey and just so darn good. I have a hard time not just eating the batter.

5. Friends of ours often come over to dinner and several years ago it was after the car show that we have a concession stand at. I had a bunch of brownies left and didn't want to leave them around. So I had the brilliant idea to layer them with fresh whipped cream and chocolate pudding. Concoction was born! I'm sure there is probably a more fitting name for this delicious decadence, but concoction just fit so well.

6. Another favorite from King Arthur Flour is their Maple Bread Pudding. I didn't manage to make any of this this past winter, but it is such a yummy treat. You really do have to use Grade B syrup {which seems to be in short supply right now, for some reason}. If you like Bread Pudding and like Maple Syrup, then this is a recipe for you!

7. Bread is another big deal food in our house. Seriously, if something is not good for you, then we probably love it. I do try to limit how much of this kind of stuff we have around the house. If I made bread every day {as my husband requests} then this bread is what it would be. It's chewy, it's crusty, it holds slabs of butter with ease! It is such a deliciously, delicious bread. I keep meaning to try it with chunks of roasted garlic baked right into it, but I haven't gotten their yet.

8. I get a lot of requests for my biscuits as well. Yes, I am one of those people who asks her guests what they would like for dinner. Growing up I was always trying recipes to replicate the delicious biscuits we would get when visiting down south. These are the closest that I've found. Honestly, they don't even need butter. Some mornings I just put a dollop of jam or honey on them and I'm good to go!

9. I usually only make this around St. Patrick's day and I honestly don't know why. We all love it {well, maybe that is why}. Irish Soda Bread! When I was studying abroad in Ireland I just loved having soda bread always at hand. Sometimes it was brown, sometimes white, sometimes with raisins, sometimes without. It was always good though. I've had to play around with this recipe over the years to get it just right, but it's now just the way we like it!

10. Everyone has a Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe they love. However, when I'm looking for something with a bit more substance and some peanut buttery goodness to it...this is the recipe I make...Oat-rageous Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is one of those things that I seriously do not even have to bake, and sometimes I don't. Sometimes the cookies never even make it into the oven. They just taste so yummy.

There you have it folks, 10 of my favorite recipes that I couldn't live without! Thanks for stopping by today. If you end up making any of these recipes, let me know, I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Mmmm, bread! I agree, if it's bad for us, we like it. I made this last night and we all enjoyed it to the very last crumbs http://www.simpleorganizedliving.com/2011/10/05/beer-bread-from-scratch/
